BEL AIR, MD — A 28-year-old woman was found deceased outside an apartment building near Bel Air Tuesday morning, and officials ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything to share information. The suspect in the fatal shooting is at large, officials reported Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities found the woman's body in the 200 block of Clarkes Ridge Court while responding to reports of shots fired at 5:58 a.m., according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was located outside an apartment building in the parking lot, according to Major William Davis of the Harford County Sheriff's Office, who said she lived in the area.

"This doesn't appear to be a random act of violence in the community," Davis stated during a Tuesday afternoon press conference. "We believe that she was a target of this assault. We don't believe there's a threat to anybody else in the community."
The victim was not being publicly identified, as officials were working to notify her next of kin.

Meanwhile, the suspect was still at large and the investigation was ongoing, according to Davis, who reported a motive was unclear.
"It's too early to say" whether the homicide was a domestic-related, Davis said. There was a call for emergency service at the address in January that was unrelated to domestic issues, he noted.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area Tuesday morning to contact the sheriff's office with information.
"Even the slightest bit of information — you might think it's insignificant, but it might be a big piece of the investigation that actually puts the puzzle together," Davis said.
If people heard shots, saw a car in the neighborhood or noticed a person outside overnight: "...please call us and let us know because you never know, that might be a key piece of information," Davis said.
As authorities were canvassing the vicinity, students and staff were staying inside buildings at certain schools, Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman Jillian Lader told Patch. The schools were not on lockdown but families were alerted out of an abundance of caution due to the police investigation in the area, she said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Tammy Burns at 410-836-5043.
