Yet with 45,350 pubs operating across the UK, choosing which one to go to is always a challenge. However, new analysis has revealed that Burnley is the best place in the UK for a pint.

In the last month alone, there have been 65,000 Google searches for 'best pub near me', highlighting how keen people are to find the perfect spot. To help punters navigate the abundance of choice, a new study from the comparison site Bionic has analysed key factors to generate a score out of 100, which include: the number of pubs and breweries in the town, average google review and the cost of a pint.

Taking the top spot as the best place in the UK for a crisp beer or cider is Burnley in Lancashire. With an impressive overall index score of 83.9, the north west town takes the top spot.

Home to 35 pubs and having an average Google rating of 4.46 out of 5, the town offers a great experience for beer lovers.

In addition, with the average pint priced at just £2.50, it’s no surprise that Burnley comes out on top as the ultimate destination for a drink.

Salford has placed in the top 10, ranking for craft beer and independent breweries outside of London.

Home to the UK’s longest-running TV pub, the Rovers Return, Salford stands out for its thriving independent brewing scene outside of London.

With seven independent breweries currently operating, boasting an impressive average Google rating of 4.69 out of 5, it’s a top destination for craft beer enthusiasts.

The data has also highlighted that the North may serve superior points to the South, with seven out of the top ten locations found in the North. The average price of a pint in the North is just £3.09, compared to £3.92 in the South.
