Getting back on track! Secured cards graduated!
As many on here, I neglected my credit so its been rough trying to get credit. I was able to finally get approved for Navy Fed ($200) and Discover's ($800) secured card 6 months ago. Last week both cards graduated two days after my 6th statement closing date. My navy fed which I product changed to the More Rewards card increased to $2000. My Discover unsecured with a $1500 increase making my limit $2300. Feels good to finally get credit cards with limits over $1k. Definitely making sure to keep these cards in line!
My question is for those who went through the same secured route. How long do I have to wait to get another credit limit increase for both cards?

Re: Getting back on track! Secured cards graduated!
@AwwwYeeeCongrats! The wait after secured on Navy Fed is 6 months after graduation. What are your credit scores?
I am also on the rebuilding path and just recently opened a Navy Fed secured card. A bit worried it won't graduate in 6 months due to my current credit score.

Re: Getting back on track! Secured cards graduated!
Thank you! 6 months ago I started around 575 across the board now I'm at 620-660 between all 3 CB. I think Navy Fed doesn't care too much about your credit score, just depends on your relationship with them. I added direct deposit, a secured pledge loan, and changed my checking to the flagship. I never carried a balance on my card so that probably helped also. Pretty much followed whatever everyone was saying on myfico.

Re: Getting back on track! Secured cards graduated!
as others said, it's 6 months even though it was an automatic CLI.....when you request your next CLI do it via the app, it'll be a softpull

Re: Getting back on track! Secured cards graduated!
@AwwwYeeeI can't speak for NFCU, but my Discover unsecured after my 7th statement with a CLI, however it has not had one since. I tried 4 times at 3, 5, 7, and 12 months post unsecuring. Each time the reason given was insufficient experience with current limit. I probably won't try again anytime soon as my usage on that card has become pretty limited more recently due to it being a Chrome where I've got other options with stronger rewards in all categories.

Congrats. I have the Navy Federal and Discover card duo too! Treat them well and maintain a good relationship with the providers because both of them can be "forever" cards and help with your credit age over time.
